Hobbies/Interests: I love doing artistic things. I enjoy dancing, mountain biking, hiking, knitting, learning new things and of course lifting weights.
Favorite movies/ music/tv shows: all kinds of movies and music
Athletic background: I have always been very athletic (coming from athletic parents): I have figure skated, done some ballet, tap and jazz dancing; swimming, water skiing, track and field, basketball, volleyball, rowing, and a little gymnastics.
On your motivation as an athlete: Originally my parents, but now my own passion to be the best I can be.
The impact fitness/weightlifting has had on your life: I’m sure weightlifting has impacted my life in more ways than I could imagine, as I have been doing it for so long now…the people I know, and the friends I have made, my understanding of my body, my knowledge of health and nutrition, choices that I have made and continue to make, my perceptions, the list goes on and on….
On people’s reaction to your physique: Reactions vary, especially around contest time: in general, over the years, people have become more positive and accepting of the muscular female, but there are still a lot of people who will go out of their way to be insulting and /or publicly humiliating. For sure, I get a lot of looks.
Future goals: To constantly improve….it would be nice to get a pro card! :-)
